Zamboanga Valientes fall to Shabazz Muhammad, Sagesse to go 0-3 in Dubai

The Zamboanga Valientes fell to Shabazz Muhammad and his Sagesse squad, 90-65, in the Dubai International Basketball Championship, Tuesday at the Shabab Al Ahli Club.
The Philippine-based squad absorbed its third straight loss and remained winless in the said tournament.
Sagesse started strong as it had 28 points while it held Zamboanga to just eight points in the opening period. By halftime, Sagesse had a 46-24 lead.
Zamboanga, however, tried to catch up in the second half as it outscored Sagesses in the third frame, 26-21, to trail 67-50. However, Sagesse regained a 26-point lead with less than three minutes remaining in the fourth period before cruising onto the victory.
The former PBA import Muhammad had 32 points, eight rebounds, and two assists to lead Sagesse as it improved to 2-1 in Group B.
Adonis Thomas and Prince Caperal had 18 points apiece in the Zamboanga loss as they remained on the bottom of the group standings.
Zamboanga will take on the Tunisia National Team next on Wednesday.
