Mikey Williams returns to action, joins Strong Group's Dubai campaign

Mikey Williams will be back in action after more than a year of hiatus, linking up with the Strong Group Athletics for its upcoming campaign in the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship.

SGA announced Williams' arrival on Tuesday as the squad looks to send a strong and competitive roster for its redemption tour.

Williams, who last played for TNT during their 2023 Governors' Cup title run, will join a stacked SGA roster that features several imports in DeMarcus Cousins, Malachi Richardson, and Terry Larrier.

Williams was actually slated to play for SGA in the last year's Dubai tournament, but communication issues caused team management to drop the former two-time PBA Finals MVP from the roster.

“I’m excited to be working with him again,” said Tiu.

“I was quite close to him before. We won two championships together, and hopefully, we can win another one.”

Williams will also lead the locals that include Rhenz Abando, Dave Ildefonso, Jason Brickman, Ange Kouame, Andray Blatche, NCAA MVP Allen Liwag, Tony Ynot, and Justine Sanchez.
