NBA: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic lead All-Star fan vote
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo lead the Western and Eastern Conferences, respectively, in the first fan returns for 2025 NBA All-Star voting released Thursday.
Joining Jokic (West frontcourt) and Antetokounmpo (East frontcourt) as top vote-getters at their respective position groups are the Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (West guard) and the Charlotte Hornets' LaMelo Ball (East guard).
Antetokounmpo has the most overall votes with 1.71 million and Jokic ranks second with 1.42 million.
Fans account for 50 percent of the vote to determine the starters for the NBA All-Star Game, scheduled for Feb. 16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Current NBA players and a media panel account for 25 percent each.
Friday marks the next "3-for-1 Day," when each fan vote counts triple. The next fan voting update will be on Jan. 9.
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James ranks third in the West frontcourt with 1.17 million votes. The others with more than 1 million votes so far are Gilgeous-Alexander, Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns), Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics) and Karl-Anthony Towns (New York Knicks).
