Brownlee, RHJ all praise for each other as they add new chapter to rivalry

Justin Brownlee and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson only had good words for each other ahead of the PBA Governors' Cup finals.

The two reinforcements previously faced each other in the Asian Games where Gilas Pilipinas won the gold medal against RHJ's Jordan squad in the finals.

In the PBA, this will be the second time they will be competing for a PBA title as RHJ's TNT won the first time they faced Brownlee's Ginebra last year.

Despite their history, the two had mutual admiration for each other as warriors on the court.

"I'm still not over that loss with Gilas versus Jordan," Hollis-Jefferson said in jest in the PBA Finals press conference on Thursday.

"On a serious note, I think he's a phenomenal player, I'm sure he's an even better person. I'm sure his teammates, coach, anyone who's been around him can attest to that."

"I'm a competitor at the end of the day. I look forward to every time we match up against each other," the TNT import said, adding that they will give their all to make the fans happy especially after a rough few days for the Philippines due to the onslaught of tropical storm Kristine.

"We wanna put some smiles on people's faces, make you happy."

Brownlee returned Hollis-Jefferson's good words.

"He's tough. Thank you for your words, but the feeling is mutual," said Brownlee.

"He's an incredible competitor, a great player, throughout his professional career, amateur career, he is great."
