Aurora ousts Falcons AP. Bren to clinch tickets to M6, MPL PH Season 14 finale
In its first foray in the MLBB scene, Aurora is going straight to the world stage.
However, the path wasn’t easy for the new franchise as Aurora had to gut out a 4-2 victory over reigning world champion Falcons AP. Bren in the lower bracket finals of MPL Philippines Season 14 on Saturday.
Aurora had to also surpass two of the last three world champions, first overcoming M4 champion Team Liquid (formerly Echo) in the play-in before sweeping M3 winner Blacklist International in the lower bracket semifinals.
With this, Aurora has arranged a grand finals duel against top seed Fnatic ONIC Philippines set on Sunday and has already secured of an M6 berth as it became one of the two Philippine representatives on the prestigious global conclave.
Aurora cruised to a commanding 3-1 lead over Falcons AP. Bren, but the latter was able to extend their campaign after a crucial lord steal by Michael "KyleTzy" Sayson (Suyuo) just before the 18th minute mark of Game 5.
A five-man wipeout on the side of Aurora then ensued, allowing Falcons AP. Bren to complete a tower lock and drag Aurora to another game.
Aurora then made sure the game won't reach a decider as jungler Jonard "Demonkite" Caranto single-handedly slayed the second lord at the 14th minute before they marched on the midlane to finish it off.
Roamer Renejay "Renejay" Barcase bagged the MVP citation after unleashing two kills and 12 assists against one death on his Mathilda in the series-clinching Game 6.
