La Salle dominates Adamson, punches Final Four ticket

De La Salle University dominated Adamson University, 70-45, on Saturday in UAAP Season 87 at the UST Quadricentennial Pavillion to punch the first ticket to the Final Four.

The Green Archers improved to 9-1, while the Falcons slipped to 3-6.

A strong second quarter showing from the Taft-based squad propelled the Archers to the win as they limited the Soaring Falcons to 11 points. La Salle, meanwhile, had 25 points to end the first half at 42-22.

It was all La Salle then until the final buzzer with reigning Most Valuable Player Kevin Quiambao leading the green-and-white with 17 points, six boards, and three assists. Joshua David, meanwhile, added 11 points for the Green Archers who were missing the services of Earl Abadam as he was ruled out for the season due to an ankle injury.

Cedrick Manzano was the only double-digit scorer for Adamson with 14 points.

Earlier, Ateneo de Manila University defeated University of Santo Tomas on their home court, 67-64.

Andrew Bongo led the Blue Eagles with 14 points, while Ian Espinosa had 11 points as the Katipunan-based squad improved to 3-6.
