San Miguel dominates Barangay Ginebra to even semis series, 2-2
San Miguel dominated Barangay Ginebra, 131-121, in Game 4 of the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum to even their series, 2-2.
The Beermen led by as much as 20, 122-102, almost halfway through the fourth quarter after a Terrence Romeo layup.
Ginebra then trimmed the deficit to within ten after a Scottie Thompson four-pointer with 1:07 remaining but SMB import EJ Anosike then answered with a trey to seal the deal for the Beermen.
San Miguel also had a strong start as they led 62-56 at the end of the first half.
"I just challenged them in yesterday's practice that we just have to come out strong, bring a lot of effort and energy so that we will have a great chance of winning in this game and they responded really well," San Miguel head coach Jorge Gallent said.
June Mar Fajardo had 29 points, 16 rebounds, and three assists, while Anosike had 27 points, 11 boards, and three assists for the Beermen.
