PBA to follow due process in handling John Amores case
PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial shared that the league has already sat down with John Amores last Tuesday.
The NorthPort guard and his brother were recently involved in a shooting incident in Laguna.
Marcial, though, said the PBA has yet to finalize the next course of action in handling the matter given the sensitivity of it, but said Amores had already explained his side of things.
"Pinapunta namin si John Amores last Tuesday sa opisina, nando’n si governor Erick Arejola, si Waiyip (Chong), and si deputy [commissioner] Eric Castro at ‘yung legal natin, si Atty. Melvin (Mendoza)," Marcial told reporters on Saturday in Antipolo City.
After getting an explanation from Amores, Marcial said they will now study what possible sanction to impose on the cager.
Amores and his brother have been charged with attempted homicide but was released from detention after posting bail.
As of now, Amores' contract with the Batang Pier remains alive pending the decision from both the league and the franchise.
"Sumagot na so ibibigay ko kay Atty. Odjie [Narvasa] so pag-uusapan nami maybe next week," Marcial added.
