Khobuntin goes perfect from deep as TNT takes series lead over NLEX
Glenn Khobuntin waxed hot from the rainbow country to help TNT take a convincing 109-91 win against NLEX in Game 3 of their best-of-five quarterfinals affair in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup on Sunday.
Khobuntin went perfect with 5-of-5 shooting from downtown to finish with 17 points and six rebounds as they took a 2-1 series lead over the Road Warriors and moved a win away from a semifinals berth.
"I just want to win so kung sabi ni coach na kung open ka, itira n'yo na. For me, 'yun lang iniisip ko. Nag-focus lang ako sa defense so if the ball ay pumunta sa akin," Khobuntin said.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led the charge by flirting with a triple-double of 27 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and one block while Calvin Oftana added 18 markers, five boards, and three dimes.
The loss spoiled the 17-point outing from Robert Herndon who also grabbed five rebounds while DeQuan Jones churned out a double-double of 16 markers, 10 boards, one assist, one steal, and one block.
