The University of the East notched its third straight win at the expense of National University, 57-51, in UAAP Season 87 on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Red Warriors were leading 53-51 late in the game before free throws from Wello Lingolingo off a foul from Gelo Santiago pushed the lead further for the Recto-based squad. Ethan Galang then sealed the deal for UE as it improved to 3-2.

John Abate pushed UE forward with 15 points and six rebounds, while Lingolingo had eight points.

Steve Nash Enriquez had nine points, while Jolo Manansala, Reinhard Jumamoy, and Kenshin Padrones had eight points apiece as the Bulldogs were dealt their fourth straight loss and slipped to 1-5.

Earlier, the University of the Philippines overcame a 22-point deficit to take down Adamson University, 69-57.

The Fighting Maroons were down 31-9 early in the match but crawled their way to cut the deficit to within six, 33-27, at the first half. UP continued to pound in the third as they outscored Adamson, 24-13, in the third period and never looked back until they took the win.
