Joshua Yerro saves day for Adamson against NU

Joshua Yerro saved the day for Adamson University as they escaped National University, 60-58, on Wednesday in UAAP Season 87 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Soaring Falcons were leading 56-50 after a Matthew Montebon triple at the 1:40 mark of the final frame, but the Bulldogs made a 6-0 run to tie the game. Cedrick Manzano made one under the basket with 3.3 seconds left but Jolo Manansala leveled the game anew at 58. 

With 0.3 seconds left, Joshua Yerro completed an alleyoop from Jhon Calisay's inbound pass just before the final buzzer rang to seal the deal for Adamson.

The Bulldogs led at the half, 38-29.

Matthew Montebon had 15 points, two assists, a rebound, and a steal, while Yerro had 11 points, five rebounds, three steals, and an assist as the Falcons improved to 3-2.

Manansala had 15 points, while Jake Figueroa and Kenshin Padrones had 11 and 10 points apiece as the Bulldogs slipped to 1-4.

Earlier, De La Salle University bounced back after a loss against University of the East and defeated Far Eastern University, 68-62.

The Green Archers improved to 4-1, while the Tamaraws remained winless in five games.
