Joe Devance comes out of retirement to play for Barangay Ginebra in PBA Govs Cup

Joe Devance will play once again in the PBA.

After his retirement two years ago, Devance is returning to the league and will play for Barangay Ginebra anew as the team enters the quarterfinals of the Governors' Cup.

"Through it all it brought me back here! This is a surreal feeling im going through right now. This is the closure I wanted and needed," Devance wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

"I'm honored to have this chance. I'm on an emotional roller coaster because I never had my family not watch me play. They would have enjoyed this moment with me through all the battles, the high times, and low times with every team my family has always been my support system," Devance wrote, adding that he will seize the chance given by the team and the league.

Paul Garcia, meanwhile, will be relegated to the unrestricted free agent list.

Barangay Ginebra will go against the San Miguel Beermen in a best-of-five quarterfinals series starting on Thursday.
