George King erupts for 64 as Blackwater downs Rain or Shine
George King erupted for 64 points as Blackwater took down Rain or Shine, 139-118, on Monday in the PBA Governors' Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The win capped the Bossing's conference on a high note as it finished with a 5-5 record in Group B.
King ruled with three four-pointers and made all 20 free throws en route to the franchise record. On top of that, King had 13 points, two assists, and a steal. Sedrick Barefield, meanwhile, led the locals with 21 points.
Jhonard Clarito had 18 points, while Anton Asistio and Aaron Fuller had 14 points apiece as Rain or Shine finished on top of the group with seven wins and three losses.
Earlier, Converge secured the no. 3 slot in Group A as it defeated Magnolia, 89-82.
Import Jalen Jones had 27 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists, while Justin Arana had 12 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and a steal as the FiberXers finished with 6-4.
Calvin Abueva and Peter Alfaro had 11 points each for the All-Filipino Magnolia.
The quarters will commence on Wednesday with TNT taking on NLEX at 5 p.m. and Magnolia going against Rain or Shine at 7:30 p.m.at the same venue.
