George King drops 49 vs San Miguel as Blackwater stays alive in hunt for QF slot


George King dropped 49 points as Blackwater defeated San Miguel, 111-94, in the PBA Governors' Cup on Saturday to stay alive in the hunt for a quarterfinals slot.

The win put Blackwater at 4-5, currently tied with NLEX, as both teams are still in contention for the final quarterfinals slot in Group B. San Miguel, meanwhile, closed the preliminary round at 6-4.

King drilled four four-pointers and two triples en route to his explosive outing.

The Bossing led by as much as 25, 107-82, near the halfway mark of the fourth period before Blackwater cruised to the win.

Aside from King, Sedrick Barefield also scored in double digits with 14 points for Blackwater.

June Mar Fajardo registered 23 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block, while CJ Perez had 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

Blackwater will go against Rain or Shine on Monday, while NLEX will still play Barangay Ginebra on Sunday.
