SJ Moore, Raffy Celis join Benilde

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde has secured the commitments of transferees SJ Moore and Raffy Celis.

The 6-foot-2 guard Moore, a product of the Arellano University high school program, is making his return to the NCAA after playing a season with University of Santo Tomas in the UAAP.

Moore and Benilde head coach Charles Tiu confirmed the development also to GMA News Online.

"He really caught my eye playing in the NBTC and even in the high school ranks of the NCAA," Tiu said in a release by the Strong Group Athletics, adding that he has tried to recruit Moore before.

"Somehow, he wanted to transfer and move to us, so we will gladly welcome him. I had spoken to Coach Pido [Jarencio] and have his blessing about SJ anyways,” Tiu added.

Celis, meanwhile, will move to the Taft-based squad after a season with Ateneo de Manila University.

"He’s a really good player, and after playing and training under Coach Tab (Baldwin) for the last year, I’m sure he’s gotten even better now,” Tiu said about Celis, adding that they have also tried to recruit the latter before he landed in the Blue Eagles' nest.

Both players will serve residency this Season 100 and are eligible to play next season.
