PBA: Zavier Lucero shines as Magnolia downs import-less NorthPort
Zavier Lucero starred as Magnolia defeated his former team NorthPort, 105-94, in the PBA Governors' Cup on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
This is Magnolia's first match against NorthPort after Lucero was shipped to the Batang Pier in exchange of Jio Jalalon and Abu Tratter.
Lucero registered 16 points, 12 boards, two blocks, and an assist to help the Hotshots in taking down the import-less NorthPort.
NorthPort was trailing 94-91 with 3:26 remaining in the fourth period before the Hotshots made a 7-0 run to widen the gap and eventually take control of the game late.
Import Glenn Robinson III had 25 points, 11 rebounds, four steals, and two blocks, while Paul Lee had his own double-double of 20 points and 11 assists, along with two steals as Magnolia improved to 3-2.
Cade Flores led NorthPort, who were missing Venky Jois' services, with 23 points and 10 rebounds as NorthPort slipped to 2-3.
