Kyle Kuzma on PBA's four-point shot: ‘I think it’s good for the game'

The PBA's introduction of the four-point shot into its games has drawn mixed reactions from basketball pundits and fans across the globe, but the league might have gotten a fan in NBA player Kyle Kuzma.

The Washington Wizards forward said the league's newest four-point shot — a basket made from the line 27 feet away — is a good development in the sport of basketball.

"Yeah, 100-percent. I think it’s good for the game," Kuzma said in a media availability on Monday in Makati.

Having been able to play in the NBA for eight years now, Kuzma, who was drafted by the Brooklyn Nets in 2017 before being traded right away to Los Angeles Lakers on the draft day, said the four-point shot could do basketball good, especially in his mother league.

The 29-year-old forward stressed that a number of NBA players, like Steph Curry, can sink baskets from that range, making it easier for the league and the players to adjust whenever the NBA adopts it as well.

"It allows more space and at the end of the day, a lot of us shoot deep threes anyway," he added.

"A lot of us can shoot from that far and I think it’ll be more dramatic in the NBA and fans will probably like it, too, and Steph would probably get way more four-points."

The PBA already implemented the rule in the ongoing Season 49 Governors' Cup with Chris Banchero of the Meralco Bolts sinking the first-ever four-point shot during their opening day win against Magnolia.
