PBA: Will Navarro registers career-high 31 as NorthPort downs Terrafirma for first win


Will Navarro registered a new-career high of 31 points as NorthPort took down Terrafirma, 112-93, in the PBA Governors' Cup on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Navarro went on a scoring spree in the second half as he listed 24 points after posting only seven in the first two quarters to eclipse his previous career-high of 29 points in 2022.

NorthPort had the lead, 51-43, at the end of the first half before it pulled away in the third period with a 34-point output, 13 of which came from Navarro alone. The third quarter ended with an 85-70 lead for NorthPort as Fran Yu drilled a 4-pointer from the halfcourt. 

The Batang Pier continued to pound in the fourth and led by 27, 106-79, after a Navarro jumper at the 5:19 mark before cruising onto the victory.

On top of Navarro's 31 points, he also had five rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while returning NorthPort import Venky Jois had 16 points and 15 boards as the Batang Pier notched their first win and improved to 1-1.

Juami Tiongson top-scored Terrafirma with 19 points, while Stanley Pringle registered 17 points and 10 boards as the Dyip went down to 0-2. Import Antonio Hester had 13 points and 11 rebounds.
