NLEX downs Blackwater in debut; TNT beats Meralco to go 2-0


The NLEX Road Warriors made their debut in the PBA Governors' Cup and took down Blackwater Bossing, 104-87, on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Robert Bolick was a rebound shy of a triple-double as he posted 24 points, 11 assists, and nine boards, while import Myke Henry impressed with 31 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and a block in the Road Warriors' first game under new head coach Jong Uichico.

Christian David and Troy Rosario chipped in 17 points apiece for the Bossing who are part of Group B, while Sedrick Barefield added 16 as the Bossing slipped to 0-2. Import Ricky Ledo had six points, nine boards, an assist, and a steal.

TNT, meanwhile, notched its second win as it defeated Meralco, 93-73.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had 25 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, three steals, and three blocks to lead the Tropang Giga.

Rey Nambatac led the locals with 16 points. seven boards, and one assist, while Poy Erram had 15 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.

Chris Banchero top-scored the Bolts with 18 points. Chris Newsome, who had an encounter early in the match as Erram accidentally fell on him, had 15 points total in the game. Allen Durham was limited to eight points as the Bolts slipped to 1-1 in Group A.
