La Salle continues red-hot offseason, rules WUBS in sweep

De La Salle University continued its impressive offseason ahead of its title defense in the UAAP, completing a sweep of the 2024 World University Basketball Series (WUBS) on Monday in Tokyo, Japan.

The Green Archers dominated Korea University in their finals clash, 101-86, behind a total team effort as the Taft crew ended the tournament unscathed with a 3-0 slate.

Foreign reinforcement Henry Agunnane imposed his will and top-scored with 25 points alongside seven rebounds and a steal while reigning UAAP MVP Kevin Quiambao posted a double-double of 15 markers and 11 assists laced with six boards and one swat.

Michael Phillips and Vhoris Marasigan chipped in 14 points apiece with the former also grabbing 10 rebounds, two steals, and one assist.

The win was another title in La Salle's offseason haul after also ruling the PBA D-League and  Pinoyliga while also ending up as a runner-up to University of the Philippines during their title clash in the FilOil Preseason Cup.
