Strong Group Athletics down USA to go 5-0 in Jones Cup

Strong Group Athletics, the Philippine representative to the Jones Cup in Taiwan, remained strong as it took down USA, 112-90, on Thursday.

After trailing at the first half, 60-56, the Philippines outscored Future Sports USA, 33-16, to end the third quarter with a double-digit advantage, 89-76.

The Philippines led by 20, 108-88, at the 1:12 mark of the fourth period after a Chris McCollough basket before eventually taking the win.

McCollough posted 24 points, while Tajuan Agee and RJ Abarrientos had 19 and 17 points, respectively, as Strong Group grabbed its fifth straight win. 

Hammer Bowen Moss, on the other hand, led USA with 18 points, while Eliott Marcus Ryan and Thomas Demetrius had 15 and 14 points, respectively, for Future Sports USA.

The Philippines will next face Japan U22 on Friday at 1 p.m.
