Strong Group off to 2-0 start in Jones Cup with rout of Australia

Strong Group Athletics picked up where it left off, dismantling BSBL Guardians of Australia with a 91-69 rout to remain unbeaten in the 2024 William Jones Cup on Sunday in Taiwan. 

SGA cruised to a 2-0 win-loss card while keeping the Australians winless at 0-2. 

Chris McCullough continued to impress in his debut in representing the Philippines, pouring in 23 points together with seven boards, one steal, and one block a day after churning out a double-double effort against United Arab Emirates on Saturday. 

Naturalized big man Ange Kouame supplied the help with 16 markers, 10 boards, and one rejection while Tajuan Agee chipped in 14 points, four rebounds, and two swats. 

Jesse Ghee paced BSBL Guardians with his own double-double 19 points and 10 rebounds while Atem Bior chimed in with 14 markers. 

SGA will look to cop its third straight win on Monday when it takes on Ukraine while BSBL Guardians will face Japan's U22 squad earlier in the day.
