Justin Brownlee, Gilas Pilipinas vs Georgia, 2024 FIBA OQT

Justin Brownlee definitely made huge noise during Gilas Pilipinas' run in the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Latvia, leading the Philippines to a surprise semifinals appearance before they lost to world no. 12 Brazil to end their Paris dreams.

The naturalized Filipino isn't going home empty-handed as he was named to the All-Star Five of the Latvia qualifiers for his all-around showing for the Tim Cone-helmed squad.

Brownee joined MVP Bruno Caboclo of Brazil, Rihards Lomazs of Latvia, Jeremiah Hill of Cameroon, and another Brazilian in Leo Meindl in the All-Star team.

The 36-year-old Brownlee posted averages of 23 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists to bring the Philippines just shy of a ticket to Paris.

Gilas defeated Latvia during their group stage clash, marking the first time the country has beaten a European team in 64 years. They then lost to Georgia by two points, 96-94, but still qualified for the semifinals.

Brazil went on to clinch the tournament and Olympic berth after a 94-69 win over the hosts in the finals.
