Gilas Pilipinas will face Brazil in the semifinals of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Latvia.

As the Philippines booked a slot in the semis despite the narrow 96-94 loss to Georgia, the nationals finished second in Group A behind top finisher Latvia.

Brazil, meanwhile, ended on the top of Group B despite losing to Cameroon, 77-74, as it only needed to win or lose by six points or less to get the first spot.

Cameroon, on the other hand, has also qualified and finished second in Group B and eliminated Montenegro in the process.

With the bracket settled, the Philippines will go against world no. 12 Brazil in the semifinals on Saturday night.

In the other bracket, Group A winner Latvia will play Cameroon in the semis.

The winner of each bracket will then advance to the finals, with the ticket to Paris Olympics handed only to the Riga tournament's overall winner.

Gilas head coach Tim Cone said he was surprised with the development happening for the national team.

"We had our tickets to leave tomorrow, we already had our tickets to go, we already had our tickets out. I guess we have to move them back a little bit. That's how surprised we are here and talking to you. Like we've been saying, it's the first time I felt good about losing," Cone said in the post-game conference.

Aside from Latvia, the OQT is also held in Spain, Greece, and Puerto Rico.

Here are the semis bracket for each venue.
