Dalton Knecht 'excited to get to work' with Lakers after NBA Draft

Dalton Knecht said he is 'excited to get to work' with the Los Angeles Lakers after he was selected by the team in the 2024 NBA Draft on Wednesday (US time).

Knecht was selected 17th overall in the draft.

"What's up, Laker Nation? It's Dalton Knecht here. I'm excited to get to work and I'll see you all soon," Knecht said in a video posted by the Lakers on their social media accounts.

Knecht, a product of University of Tennessee, Knoxville, stands at six-foot-five and logged averages of 16.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game during his last season with the Volunteers in the US NCAA.

He was also named as Southeastern Conference Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season as Tennessee finished in the Elite Eight.

Zaccharie Risacher was selected first overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the draft.
