Dave Ildefonso joins Strong Group Athletics for Jones Cup

Dave Ildefonso will also join the Strong Group Athletics for its upcoming Jones Cup campaign next month in Taiwan.

The team announced the development on Saturday.

The Filipino import recently played with the KBL team Suwon KT Sonicboom.

"My top priority in joining SGA is to help the team which is being handled by one of my friends in Ateneo Jacob (Lao) win the championship in any way possible," Ildefonso said in a statement.

"Representing the country is always a privilege, and I intend to make the most of an opportunity like this."

Ildefonso last suited up for Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

As he joins Strong Group, he will be reunited with former Ateneo de Manila University teammate Ange Kouame as they were part of the team which won the UAAP Season 85 men's basketball crown.

Aside from Ildefonso and Kouame, Strong Group consists of Kiefer Ravena, Chris McCullough, Rhenz Abando, RJ Abarrientos, Jordan Heading, Caelan Tiongson, DJ Fenner, Tajuan Agee, Jonathan Manalili, Tony Ynot, and Allen Liwag.
