UP completes comeback vs La Salle, retains Filoil Preseason title

University of the Philippines clawed back from a huge hole to upset De La Salle University, 69-66, and reign supreme in the 2024 Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup on Wednesday.

The Fighting Maroons erased a 20-point deficit to complete the come-from-behind victory, repeating over the Green Archers to rule the preseason tilt.

The duo of JD Cagulangan and Gerry Abadiano starred for the Katipunan crew with the former pouring in 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one block while the latter pumped in 12 markers to lift the defending champions.

Kevin Quiambao hammered out a double-double outing in the loss with 14 points and 10 rebounds as CJ Austria churned out 14 markers as well.
