Gabe Norwood now a playing assistant coach for Rain or Shine

Rain or Shine veteran Gabe Norwood is now a playing assistant coach for the Elasto Painters.

The team announced the development on Thursday as he signed a one-year deal for his new role.

Norwood has been a part of the squad since 2008.

Previously, head coach Yeng Guiao said Norwood, along with Beau Belga, are expected to guide the team's young core.

In the PBA Philippine Cup, Norwood posted averages of 4.38 rebounds, 3.25 points, and 2.00 assists per game in eight outings.

The Elasto Painters finished their All-Filipino conference campaign in the semifinals as they were swept by the San Miguel Beermen in the best-of-seven series.
