Chris McCullough to reinforce SGA in Jones Cup

PBA: Chris McCullough of the San Miguel Beermen

Former PBA import Chris McCullough is set for a Philippine homecoming as he has been tapped to reinforce the Strong Group Athletics in the 43rd William Jones Cup scheduled to take place from July 13 to 21 in Taipei, Taiwan.

The 29-year-old McCullough will return to the country for the first time in five years after he suited up as an import for San Miguel during their championship run in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

"After so many years, it's truly surreal to be returning to the country," McCullough said. "Even though it's just for a short while, the experience of flying back, training, and being in the Philippines again is going to be amazing."

Since his tour of duty with the Beermen, McCullough has had plenty of stints in the international scene, joining various clubs in South Korea, Lithuania, Bahrain, and Puerto Rico.

He's currently playing for Formosa Dreamers in the P.League+.

McCullough will link up with Kiefer Ravena, Jordan Heading, and Caelan Tiongson with Charles Tiu calling the shots as the Strong Group banners the Philippines in the annual tournament.

"Not only is it exciting, but I'm also grateful for the opportunity. I'm representing the Philippines, and this is essentially like a job interview for me, as other teams will see me perform," McCullough added.
