PBA: San Miguel ousts Rain or Shine, advances to Philippine Cup Finals

San Miguel eliminated Rain or Shine as it overcame a 19-point deficit and took Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup semis, 107-100, on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena, to book a slot in the finals.

The Elasto Painters were leading 78-59 at the 5:13 mark of the third period, but the Beermen erupted for 32 points and limited the former to just 13 points in the fourth period to take the win.

Rain or Shine had the lead, 100-97, with less than three minutes left in the final frame but San Miguel made a 10-0 run to steal the game.

"The players just did not quit. They really played well especially in the start of the fourth and they just wanted to end the series now that's why they played really hard entering the fourth quarter," San Miguel head coach Jorge Gallent said.

CJ Perez had 26 points, six of which came from the Beermen's late rally, while Don Trollano had 20 points. June Mar Fajardo, registered 23 rebounds, 17 points, and six assists for the Beermen.

The win spoiled Gian Mamuyac's 30-point outing for the eliminated Rain or Shine squad.

San Miguel will wait for the winner of the series between Barangay Ginebra and Meralco which is currently locked at two games apiece.
