PBA: Meralco equalizes vs Barangay Ginebra, spoils Standhardinger's 41 points


The Meralco Bolts equalized its semis series against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 103-91, in Game 2 of the PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Bolts also spoiled Christian Standhardinger's career performance as he finished with 41 points and 11 rebounds.

Meralco pulled away in the third period as it led by 17 early in the frame, but Ginebra outscored the Bolts, 32-18, and ended with the quarter in its favor, 74-73. 

The Bolts, however, regained control of the game in the fourth period as it limited Ginebra to just 17 points against their 30-point romp.

Allein Maliksi had 25 points, while Chris Newsome had 20 points as Meralco brought the best-of-seven series to one game apiece.

Aside from Standhardinger, only Maverick Ahanmisi and Stanley Pringle scored in double digits with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
