PBA: Magnolia acquires Jerrick Balanza in trade with Converge
Magnolia made a huge move amidst its shaky start in the PBA Philippine Cup after acquiring the rights to Jerrick Balanza through a trade with Converge.
The PBA Commissioner's Office approved of the deal on Friday as the Hotshots look to improve their current 2-2 standing in the All-Filipino tourney.
The FiberXers, meanwhile, will receive Magnolia's Season 49 second round draft pick.
Balanza played sparingly in six games this conference with Converge, averaging 2.67 points, 1.50 rebounds, 0.83 assists, 0.17 steals, and 0.17 blocks in 6.65 minutes. He is set to bolster the Hotshots, who are still missing the services of Rome Dela Rosa and had endured two early losses to NLEX and Ginebra.
Balanza ended his run with Converge after 15 months after he was traded by NorthPort in January 2023 in exchange for Allyn Bulanadi.
