Gilas Women advance to FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup quarters

The Gilas Pilipinas Women advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup after sweeping Pool C of the tournament on Friday in Singapore.

The team composed of Jhaz Joson, Mika Cacho, Camille Clarin, and Kaye Pingol first defeated Mongolia, 19-8, with Joson posting 11 points.

Joson led the Gilas Women anew in their 17-10 win against Malaysia where she had six points.

The nationals remained unbeaten in the tourney as it also notched wins against Tahiti (21-3), Maldives (19-11), and Kazakhstan (21-12) in the Qualifying Draw.

The Philippines will face Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

The men's team, on the other hand, will commence its campaign on Saturday as it takes on Australia and Japan in the group stage.
