NU forces do-or-die vs Adamson in UAAP juniors basketball finals


NU Nazareth School vs Adamson Baby Falcons UAAP

National University Nazareth School completed a come-from-behind victory against Adamson University, 67-64, on Wednesday in Game 2 of the UAAP Season 86 high school boys basketball finals to force a rubber match for the crown.

The Bullpups were down 48-33 in the third quarter before reclaiming the lead, 66-62, and eventually taking the win.

Most Valuable Player Collins Akowe led NU with 16 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks, while Klein Tagotongan had 16 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Earl Medina had 23 points for the Baby Falcons.

Prior to Game 2, individual achievers were recognized with Akowe leading the pack to become the first foreign student-athlete to be named UAAP juniors MVP.

Joining Akowe in the Mythical Five are Kieffer Alas of De La Salle Zobel, Kristian Porter of Ateneo de Manila University, Andrei Dungo of University of Santo Tomas, and Tebol Garcia of Adamson University. 

Nathan Egea of University of the Philippines was named Rookie of the Year.
