Phoenix semis exit just a chapter of 'fairy-tale', says Jarin

For Phoenix Super LPG head coach Jamike Jarin, the 'fairy-tale' is not yet done for the Fuel Masters.

The Fuel Masters may have finished their run in the PBA Commissioner's Cup after falling to the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots, 89-79, in Game 4 of the semifinals, but what happened to them in the conference was just a chapter of their story.

"Well the fairy-tale still continues because it's just the first chapter," Jarin said. "We go to the second chapter, a lot of things to look forward to."

The Phoenix coach recognized the progress of the Fuel Masters from being eighth in the 2023 PBA Governors' Cup to being in the top four of the ongoing conference, adding that they went against Magnolia in a tough series.

"Magnolia was a favorite to win this conference. Tough series for us but I'm just proud of everybody."

Phoenix finished with an 8-3 card at the end of the elimination round before dispatching Meralco in the quarterfinals.

Magnolia head coach Chito Victolero, meanwhile, said Phoenix gave them a tough time as well.

"Look at their grit and perseverance. Look at their courage. They are also a good defensive team" Victolero said about Phoenix, adding that he is a fan of Jarin.

"Kung anuman ang nakuhang experience nila ngayon, madadala nila 'yan sa All-Filipino." (Whatever experience they got in this conference, they will bring it to the All-Filipino.)
