Marck Espejo announces exit from Cignal after five years

Marck Espejo has penned Cignal goodbye, ending a prolific five-year stint that saw the decorated spiker help the team cop multiple championships in the Spikers' Turf.

The former Ateneo standout announced the development on Sunday, marking an end to an era in the men's volleyball scene.

"More than (5) years with this AWESOME team. I'm so grateful for all the love and support," Espejo said in an Instagram post.

Espejo suited up for the HD Spikers from 2018 to 2023, delivering three titles in six conferences after they ruled the Reinforced and Open Conferences in 2019 and the Open Conference in 2023.

In all those occasions, the 6-foot-3 high-flyer was named Most Valuable Player.

Espejo, who had also seen action overseas with Japan's Weisse Adler in 2018 and FC Tokyo in 2020, Thailand's Visakha in 2019, Bahrain's Bani Jamra in 2020, and Incheon Korean Air Jumbos in April 2023, has yet to reveal his next move.
