Strong Group lands in UAE ahead of Dubai tourney

The Strong Group Athletics team has landed in the United Arab Emirates ahead of the 33rd Dubai International Basketball Championship.

Strong Group head coach Charles Tiu posted a photo of their arrival on Thursday.

"Landed in Dubai. See you guys. Hope you can support @stronggroupathl (Strong Group's account)," Tiu wrote in the caption of his post on X.

The Philippine representative to the tournament will open their campaign on Friday night at the Al Nasr Club in Dubai.

Former NBA stars Dwight Howard and Andre Roberson banner the team, along with Mckenzie Moore, and former Gilas Pilipinas players Andray Blatche, Jordan Heading, and Justine Baltazar.

Included in the roster also are UAAP Most Valuable Player Kevin Quiambao, Francis Escandor, JD Cagulangan, and Benilde Blazers Justine Sanchez, Tony Ynot, and Allen Liwag.

Back in 2023, the Strong Group made a quarterfinals exit after falling to Lebanon's Al Riyadi, 106-97.
