Donning the green and white is not new to Jacob.
Back in high school, Jacob played with La Salle Green Hills before making his transfer to University of Santo Tomas.
He also shared a previous photo of him wearing a La Salle jersey in his younger days.
Jacob's father Mike, meanwhile, was a La Salle legend himself as he won the UAAP championship with the Taft-based squad in 2000 and 2001.
As Jacob was weighing his options, Mike previously said he had told him to 'follow his heart.'
Jacob will undergo one season of residency before being allowed to play in UAAP Season 88.
In NCAA Season 99, Cortez posted averages of 15.39 points, 3.56 rebounds, 3.44 assists, and 1.17 steals per game during the elimination round. He was a crucial cog in San Beda's journey to end its five-year title drought as they reclaimed the NCAA crown last December.
