KBL: Rhenz Abando camp mulls legal action vs. Goyang Sono import —report

Rhenz Abando's camp is mulling to file a case against the import who was involved in the incident where the Filipino player sustained a serious injury in the Korean Basketball League.

In a report by Korean news outlet Naver Sports on Wednesday, Abando is said to be in the "preliminary preparation stage" for a civil lawsuit against Goyang Sono reinforcement Chinanu Onuaku.

Abando sustained multiple injuries following a mid-air collision against Onuaku which resulted in fractures to his third and fourth lumbar vertebrae, sprained wrist ligaments, and a concussion.

Onuaku had already been slapped with a fine of 3 million won for the unsportsmanlike conduct while the game officials who presided over the match were given warnings.

The same report added that Abando's agents are looking to "hold Onuaku accountable" following the incident. The Filipino import's camp have not yet received a proper apology despite efforts to communicate with Onuaku.

Abando is expected to be sidelined for at least one month to recover, which is a big loss for Anyang side that is looking to make it two titles in a row after ruling the previous KBL season. Currently, Anyang is at seventh spot with an 11-18 slate.
