KBL slaps fine on import involved in Rhenz Abando injury —report
The Korean Basketball League slapped a fine of 3 million won to Goyang Sono import Chinanu Onuaku for unsportsmanlike conduct. The said player was involved in Rhenz Abando's injury which he sustained on Thursday.
Aside from the fine, the KBL's Finance Committee also gave warnings to the referees which called the game, according to a report on Saturday by South Korea-based news outlet Jumpball,
Abando lost his balance after jumping for a rebound in the second quarter of Anyang KGC's match against Goyang Sono which led to his collision with Onuaku. The former NCAA Most Valuable Player's fall resulted to fractures in his lumbar vertebrae, sprained wrist ligaments, and concussions.
The report said Abando will be out for at least four weeks for recovery.
