Letran to hold ‘homecoming’ for late Samboy Lim

Colegio de San Juan de Letran will hold a ‘homecoming’ for the remains of the late basketball icon Avelino ‘Samboy’ Lim.

“Join us in paying tribute to a basketball legend as we welcome Samboy home,” the school wrote on its post on Monday.

Letran said Lim’s cremated remains will be at their Colegio Chapel on Tuesday from 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., with masses at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Then, services will be moved to the Arlington Memorial Chapels from December 27 to 28 every 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Inurnment will be held on December 29.

Lim, a product of the Letran basketball program, led the Knights to a three-peat from 1982 to 1984.

The basketball icon died last Saturday at the age of 61.
