PBA: Magnolia spoils Chaffee's NLEX debut for fifth straight win
The Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots took down the NLEX Road Warriors, 99-72, on Friday in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
The Hotshots maintained its perfect record in the conference as it extended its winning streak to five.
The win also spoiled the debut of NLEX' new import Stokley Chaffee, Jr.
The game was tied at 56 early in the third period before the Hotshots pulled away and ended the said frame with a 74-60 advantage. The rampage continued in the fourth quarter where it led by as much as 28 points, 91-63, at the 7:44 mark before logging the biggest margin of 29 with 1:09 remaining in the game.
Reinforcement Tyler Bey led Magnolia with 23 points, while Mark Barroca had 19 points, nine assists, and five rebounds.
Chaffee posted 23 points and 19 rebounds in his NLEX debut, while Kris Rosales led the locals with 15 points as NLEX slipped to 2-3.
NLEX will go against Meralco on Sunday, while Magnolia will face Blackwater on Wednesday.
