Kevin Quiambao to be named UAAP Season 86 MVP


De La Salle University standout Kevin Quiambao is set to be named as the UAAP Season 86 Most Valuable Player.

Quiambao topped the statistical points race with 97.0 statistical points, a good margin ahead of second placer Rey Remogat of University of the East with 85.929 SPs.

Quiambao's La Salle teammate Evan Nelle finished third in SPs with 77.53 SPs, followed by Season 85 MVP Malick Diouf of University of the Philippines at 74.769 and LJ Gonzales of Far Eastern University at fifth with 66.857.

The La Salle big man is set to become the first local player to win the MVP award since Kiefer Ravena in 2015. Quiambao will be the first local Lasallian to win the top plum since Don Allado in 1999.

On the women's side, Ateneo de Manila's Kacey dela Rosa topped in SPs with 83.857, followed by FEU's Josee Kaputu (82.0), UST's Kent Pastrana (77.714), UP's Favour Onoh (72.714) and Ateneo's Junize Calago (70.714).
