Barangay Ginebra San Miguel held off the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 107-102, in the PBA 48th Season Commissioner's Cup on Friday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The win came after Ginebra fell to the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots, 93-91, last Sunday.

Rain or Shine was trailing by just a point with 1:06 remaining in the final frame before a triple by Maverick Ahanmisi pushed Ginebra's lead to four, 103-99.

After the Elasto Painters called for time, their import Dajuan Summers made a 3-pt attempt but did not connect, then Christian Standhardinger had a jumper to give Ginebra enough breathing room with 29 ticks remaining.

Caracut answered with another triple but a layup by Standhardinger sealed the deal for Ginebra.

Ahanmisi was an assist shy of a triple-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists, while Standhardinger had 19 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Reinforcement Tony Bishop had 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Caracut caught fire as he shot 64% from the field which included four triples en route to a career-high 32-point outing. Import Summers had 25 points and 12 rebounds as the Elasto Painters remained winless in three games.
