PBA: Phoenix downs Blackwater for back-to-back wins
The Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters defeated the Blackwater Bossing, 111-106, on Friday for their second straight win in the PBA 48th Season Commissioner's Cup.
Phoenix led by as much as 13 points, 52-39, with less than four minutes left in the second frame. Blackwater, however, reclaimed the lead in the third period before ending the said frame with a 77-76 advantage.
After leading by just three points, 98-95, the Fuel Masters made a 5-0 run past the halfway mark of the final frame before they eventually took the win.
Reinforcement Johnathan Williams posted a near triple-double of 21 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists, while Jason Perkins had 23 points, eight rebounds, and four assists for the Fuel Masters as they improved to 3-1.
The win spoiled Chris Ortiz' 35-point, 13-rebound performance for Blackwater which went down to 1-3.
