UAAP: Montebon triple saves Adamson from UE, forces playoff vs Ateneo

Monty Montebon saved the day for Adamson University.

Montebon delivered the game-winning triple to give the Soaring Falcons the win against University of the East, 63-61, on Sunday in UAAP Season 86 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

After Montebon's shot, UE's Jack Cruz-Dumont tried to steal the game, but missed.

Montebon had 16 points, while Cedrick Manzano posted 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Rey Remogat posted 16 points and 11 boards, while Precious Momowei had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

With the win, the San Marcelino-based squad improved to 7-7 at the end of the elimination round and tied with Ateneo de Manila University.

The victory also forced a playoff on Wednesday against the Blue Eagles for the last Final Four spot remaining.

UE, meanwhile, ended the season with a 4-10 card.
