Quiambao, Nonoy lead La Salle past UE to keep bid for semis bonus alive

Kevin Quiambao registered his second triple-double, while Mark Nonoy posted his career-high as a Green Archer to lead De La Salle University past University of the East, 86-76, on Sunday in UAAP Season 86 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Quiambao had 17 points, 19 rebounds, and 12 assists, while Nonoy had a game-high 25 points as the Green Archers remain in the hunt for a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.

After ending the third period with a 64-63 lead, Nonoy had an explosive fourth quarter performance as he tallied 12 of his scoring output to give the Taft-based squad a 77-63 lead with around five minutes remaining en route to their sixth straight win.

Noy Remogat led the Red Warriors with 22 points, while Precious Momowei had 21 points as they were pushed to the brink of elimination.

With the win, La Salle still held the third spot at 9-3, while UE went down to 4-8.

La Salle will face the also-ran Far Eastern University on Wednesday, while UE will go against Ateneo de Manila University next.
