Tyler Bey shines anew as Magnolia stays undefeated with rout of Phoenix
Tyler Bey shone anew as Magnolia Chicken Timplados carved out a 107-92 victory against Phoenix Super LPG to remain immaculate in the 2023 PBA Commissioner's Cup on Sunday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
The American import dropped a double-double effort of 32 points and 16 rebounds laced with three steals while guard Jio Jalalon led the locals with 20 points, eight boards, three assists, three swats, and one block as the Hotshots improved to 2-0.
Up by 10 at the end of the third, Magnolia relied on a strong endgame to torch the Fuel Masters as veteran guard Mark Barroca buried a floater to give the Hotshots a 94-75 cushion.
Barroca chipped in 15 points and eight assists while Paul Lee added 13 markers and two rebounds.
Johnathan Williams paced with a team-high 26 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and two blocks but his all-around performance was not enough to lift Phoenix as they fell to 1-1.
