UAAP: Ateneo escapes Adamson to boost Final Four bid
Ateneo de Manila University escaped Adamson University, 62-58, on Sunday to boost its bid for a Final Four spot in UAAP Season 86 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
After leading in the first half, 38-29, the Blue Eagles were held to just four points in the third period against Adamson's 20-point output.
However, the Katipunan-based squad crawled back in the fourth and outscored Adamson, 20-9, to eventually get the win and improve to 6-6 in the standings for a hold of the fourth spot.
Sean Quitevis had 12 points, while Joseph Obasa and Kai Ballungay had 10 points apiece. The said players also all had eight rebounds.
Matthew Montebon had 13 points as the Soaring Falcons dropped to 5-7 at fifth.
Ateneo's next assignments will include University of the East and De La Salle University, while Adamson will still face National University and University of the East.
