Blackwater routs Converge in Cariaso's debut for Bossing
The Blackwater Bossing gave Jeff Cariaso a win on his first game as their new head coach as they dismantled the Converge FiberXers, 103-84, on Wednesday in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
After a 50-40 lead at the end of the first half, Blackwater pulled away in the third quarter and outscored Converge, 25-15, to end the said frame at 75-55. It was all Blackwater from there as they led by as much as 27 points early in the fourth period, 91-64.
Blackwater reinforcement Chris Ortiz registered a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds on top of six assists, three steals, and two blocks, while Jvee Casio led the locals with 15 points.
The win spoiled Tom Vodanovich's return to Converge as he logged 20 points and 18 rebounds.
Both teams will return to action on Saturday as Blackwater takes on the Meralco Bolts, while Converge go against the TNT Tropang Giga.
